The Samuel-De Champlain promenade is a large park along the St. Lawrence River for nearly 4.3 kilometers. It is located on Boulevard Champlain, between the Pierre-Laporte Bridge and the C\u00f4te de Sillery. A major and lasting legacy of the Government of Quebec, the promenade is an oasis in the heart of the city and a strategic axis for the economic and tourist development of the region. The Samuel-de-Champlain Promenade has been redesigned to better meets the needs of the community. This new development plan requires that the future railway line be positioned at the toe of the cliff which is exposing both the public & infrastructures to a high risk area in case of a rockfall event.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

A rockfall investigation and assessment was made by WSP rock mechanic engineers on the site. It has been concluded that a rockfall protection of 50 kN\/m tensile strength minimum need to be installed.
