It is currently one of the largest infrastructure projects in the country with a span of 8.5 kilometers and a navigational clearance of 51 meters.<\/strong>\u202fThe bridge will have two lanes in each direction to an estimated 50,000 vehicles daily and will allow large sea vessels to pass underneath.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>Having a safe and durable working platform that will support heavy straddle carriers during the launching of the bridge girders in the causeway pre-cast yard is critical to the success of the Cebu Cordova Link Expressway Project. Comprehensive calculations and recommendations were needed to address the issues of insufficient bearing resistance in some areas of the causeway pre-cast yard.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>Maccaferri Philippines provided design and technical assistance and worked with the contractor, Cebu Link Joint Venture, a consortium composed of Spanish contractor Acciona Construction and Philippine firms First Balfour and DMCI.\u202f<strong>MacGrid EG, a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) grids, were used to stabilize the granular working platform and to create a mechanically-stabilized layer<\/strong>. Maccaferri Philippines supplied 23,000 square meters of MacGrid EG40S and 16,000 square meters of MacGrid EG30S.&nbsp;<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div><figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"29487\" src=\"https:\/\/maccaferri-stage.softecspa.it\/ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Immagine2-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29487\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"29488\" src=\"https:\/\/maccaferri-stage.softecspa.it\/ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Immagine3-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29488\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"29490\" src=\"https:\/\/maccaferri-stage.softecspa.it\/ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Immagine4-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29490\" \/><\/figure><\/figure><div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-mac-container-block box-container\"><div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\"><div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\"><p>The construction of the bridge was commenced in 2017.
