Situated in the province of Pangasinan, the Agno River, also known as the Pangasinan River, stands as one of the largest river systems in the country, traversing through the provinces of Benguet, Pangasinan, and Tarlac.

However, this river confronts a formidable challenge in the form of eroding riverbanks, recurring and destructive floods, and looming threats to the environment and the safety of nearby residents. The persistent erosion along the riverbanks and the relentless force of waves on the shorelines present significant challenges, jeopardizing both environmental stability and crucial infrastructure. Preserving these vulnerable riverbanks and coastlines is not just desirable but essential to safeguard the environment and vital infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Maccaferri’s Innovative Approach:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Starting in July 2020 and continuing through January 2024, Maccaferri is committed to helping in providing a sustainable and economical solution to mitigate erosion along the Agno River. Maccaferri\u2019s gabions<\/a>, mattresses<\/a>, and geotextiles<\/a>, are specially designed to harness the power of nature effectively, safeguarding riverbanks and coastlines from erosion and further deterioration.

The creation of spur dikes and the utilization of meandering play a vital role in ensuring long-term environmental stability and infrastructure protection. They help in redirecting the flow of water, minimizing erosion, and countering the erosive forces exerted by the river.

Maccaferri’s Reno Mattresses and gabions have emerged as the front-line defenders of the Agno River’s banks and shorelines.
